KJP leader killed in accident

Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) leader S N Eshwar died on the spot and six were injured, when the SUV in which they were travelling collided head on with a goods vehicle on National Highway-4, near Haraganahalli Cross in Harihar taluk on Thursday morning.  

Eshwar was the State treasurer and the Bangalore district unit chief of the party. The injured – Chetan, Kirankumar, Ravikumar, Arunkumar, Veerabhadra and Renukaradhya – have been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. They were all on their way to Hubli to participate in the party workers’ convention. KJP president B S Yeddyurappa, former minister Shobha Karandlaje and Davangere MP G M Siddeshwar visited the spot and met the injured in the hospital. Harihar Rural police have registered a case.
