JOIN USThe deputy commissioner has issued a notice to Ballari District Institute of Education and Training lecturer Pari Basavaraj for uploading songs related to a Congress candidate on a WhatsApp group.
Basavaraj had sent some songs in favour of Bheema Nayka, the Congress candidate, to Morigere CRC WhatsApp group. Ramanayak, a teacher from Sakrahalli in the taluk, had reacted saying that the group is not a forum for Congress publicity. Some other teachers in the group had also strongly told Basavaraj not to post political messages or songs in the teachers' group and violate the model code of conduct. The matter later reached up to the deputy commissioner.
The deputy commissioner has said that the Election Commission has been recommended to take disciplinary action against Basavaraj, election officer M S Allah Bhaksh said.
