Lingayat mutt heads from the district on Saturday demanded that Minister D K Shivakumar should resign over his apology on the separate religion issue. They said he made these remarks for political gain.
"Protest will become inevitable if the minister does not apologise," a group of pontiffs told a press conference here.
They said it was not proper on the part of Shivakumar to use the issue of faith for personal gains, they added.
