Low cost Mysore silk

The Karnaka Silk Industries Corporation (KSIC) is planning to manufacture low-cost Mysore silk sarees affordable to the poor.

Disclosing this to reporters soon after taking over as the new chairman of the KSIC, former IPS officer Subash Bharani said Mysore silk sarees at their current costs are affordable only to the ‘high-heeled’ people.  The KSIC, therefore, is planning to manufacture silk sarees that can be affordable to the poor also, he stated.
