Congress-JD(S) candidate for Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha election C H Vijayashankar said the rebellion in Kodagu JD(S) during the election will not have any impact on the election results.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Vijayashankar said, “We have formed an alliance to come to power at the Centre as well. The small differences of opinion at the local level will not have any impact on the results. The coalition is inevitable in the state as well as at the Centre. The regional parties will have a say in the Lok Sabha election results”.

He said, “During the campaign, no one spoke negatively against me and the party. All have followed the coalition Dharma and worked for me”.

Speaking about Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda’s statement that JD(S) workers have exercised franchise in favour BJP in the constituency, Vijayashankar said, “Devegowda did not say it. He has only said that we could not convince a few party workers of a few booths in Chamundeshwari constituency. The coalition Dharma has not been affected in the constituency. We have campaigned as one unit till the end.”

District Congress Committee President K K Manjunath expressed confidence that the party will get good results in this election.
