Auto driver injured in elephant attack

An autorickshaw was toppled after a herd of elephants attacked the vehicle at Abboorukatte.

An autorickshaw driver suffered injuries when elephants attacked the autorickshaw at Abboorukatte in the wee hours of Saturday. 

The injured is Kuttappa. He was driving his auto to Hosalli when the incident occurred.

A herd of elephants suddenly entered the road and attacked the auto with there trunks. As the auto toppled on the road, Kuttappa suffered injuries.

On hearing his cry, the locals rushed to the spot. The wild elephants even damaged the compound of a church. 

Kuttappa was taken to a government hospital in Somwarpet. Later, he was shifted to Madikeri. As he had suffered injuries on his spinal cord, he was shifted to a hospital in Mysuru. 

ACF Nehru, RFO Sumanth and others visited the spot.

Villagers who gathered at the spot demanded a permanent solution to the wild elephant menace.
