Health scheme: Rush for registration

The citizens are confused about registering their names under Ayushman Bharat-Arogya Karnataka scheme here.

A large number of people were seen waiting in a queue for registration at the Community Health Centre at Kalasa.

The beneficiaries can register only online. It takes at least 10 to 15 minutes for uploading information and documents of each beneficiary under the scheme. As a result, only 50 to 70 registration can be done in a day, said a staffer at the Community Health Centre.

The beneficiaries, who visit the Community Health Centre, to register their names vent their ire at the staffers for delaying the registration. A few beneficiaries visit the centre at 6 am to register their names. The staffers at the centre issue token to 50 persons a day to get their names to register names under the scheme.

Taluk Panchayat member Rafiq, who visited the centre on Monday, appealed to the staffers to cooperate and help the beneficiaries who come from faraway places.

A staffer said, “The names can be registered for the scheme for one year. All the eligible beneficiaries’ names will be registered under the scheme.”
