Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader came to the rescue of Sabarimala devotees whose car caught fire accidentally on Pumpwell-Nanthoor road in Mangaluru on Friday night.
The devotees, from Kundagol in Dharwad, were headed to Dharmasthala from Sabarimala when the incident occurred. The minister, who was travelling on the same route, saw the blazing car. He tried to douse the fire with the water in his car. Later, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The minister made arrangement for devotees’ travel in KSRTC bus.
