Mysore cops rescue father, son

Sources told Deccan Herald that while Mohan Kumar (47) was rescued near Bellur Cross in Nagamangala on Saturday night, his son Tushar (12) was rescued on NICE expressway near Magadi on Sunday around 5.45 pm. Mohan Kumar was found blindfolded, when he was rescued from a vacant site near Bellur cross.

The abductors were shifting Tushar from Mariyappana Palya to Gollarahalli near Jnanabharathi, in a vehicle, when they were noticed by a police team. As the police chased them, the abductors slowed down their vehicle at a distance and pushed Tushar out and sped away.

Meanwhile, sources said that three of the eight kidnappers have been arrested from a fast food joint near Magadi by Tumkur police. One among them is identified as Ashoka. The police team from Tumkur led by Inspector Kalleshappa had information that the three accused of heinous crimes, are moving around Magadi. When the Tumkur police arrested them, they learnt that the trio were also involved in the abduction of Mohan Kumar and his son Tushar.

Mohan Kumar, a contractor from Kushalnagar and his son  were abducted in Yadavagiri in Mysore on October 13. They had demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh to free them.
