Mysore judge killed in mishap

The judge of first additional principal and sessions court, N Rudramuni, (49), was mowed down by a bus of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation at Tirumala in Tirupati,  Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday.

Rudramuni was returning from the temple when he came under the wheels of the bus around 4.30 pm. He had been to the temple town with his siblings and friends. The body was shifted to a hospital for post-mortem, the police said.

A native of Bellary, Rudramuni stood first in the exams held for judges in the year 2008. He served in civil courts in Bangalore and Ramanagar before his transfer to Mysore. He was recently promoted as the district and sessions court judge of Yadgir and was due to assume the charge on May 31. He is survived by wife and two children.

Woman killed

A woman was killed on the spot and two people injured, after a multiutility vehicle rammed a lorry from behind near Baragur handpost at Channarayapatna in Hassan district. The deceased is Mangala, (25), of  Bangalore. Her husband Annappa, who was at the wheel and father Chaluvaraju were injured in the incident. The family was returning from a pilgrimage.
