Addressing reporters in the city on Wednesday, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said that the revenue mobilisation by the end of November stands at Rs 28,064 crore against the target of Rs 48,389 crore. The revenue collection will improve in coming days as economy also has shown signs of recovery, he added.
CM informed that 44 percent of the total budgetary expenditure estimate of Rs 62,416 crore for the year 2009-10 has been spent in the first eight months. The total expenditure during the period is 19 percent more than last year. The plan expenditure by the end of November stands at Rs 8,049 crore which is 38 percent more than last year’s figures. The non-plan expenditure also has increased by 11 percent as resources were diverted for relief and re-construction works in flood-affected North Karnataka. State has recorded Rs 22,867 crore non-plan expenditure by the end of November which was Rs 20,494 crore last year.
He dismissed the opposition charge that he was protecting the ministers involved in illegal mining and said that not a single mining permit was issued after he became CM. On the opposition from farmers against land acquisition for airport near Bellary, he said that fair compensation will be offered to the dispalced families.
