Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Saturday slammed Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for losing her cool against Kodagu district Minister Sa Ra Mahesh.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Parameshwara said Nirmala had been elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka and she was duty-bound to get Central aid for flood relief work in Kodagu. “Instead of helping the people of Kodagu, she lost her cool against Mahesh. It was absolutely unnecessary. It is unfortunate that the Centre is yet to release aid for Kodagu,” Parameshwara said.
The deputy chief minister said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately release an interim relief of Rs 2,000 crore to enable the rehabilitation process in Kodagu. "The Centre should not indulge in politics when it comes to help people in crisis,” he added.
