Pawan Kalyan fan killed by Jr NTR supporters in Kolar

Tollywood actor and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday visited the family of his fan and Janasena activist Vinod Kumar Royal (24) of Tirupati who was stabbed to death by three persons at Kolar in Karnataka on Sunday.

Vinod was stabbed to death allegedly by the fans of another Tollywood star Jr NTR, grandson of the Telugu thespian the late N T Rama Rao. Kalyan consoled Vinod’s parents at their residence at STV Nagar in Tirupati on Thursday.
 
A verbal duel between fans of the two stars turned ugly in Kolar when a few Jr NTR fans took objection to the pro-Pawan Kalyan slogans raised by Vinod. He was in Kolar to attend organ donation campaign on behalf Pawan Kalyan Fans’ Association. However, the issue was sorted and the meeting ended. According Vinod’s parents, their son called them and said that he was returning home. But in an hour they were informed that Vinod had been stabbed to death. The local police arrested Akshay, in connection with the murder.

“I am trying to find out what actually happened in Kolar. It is unfortunate. We actors are all friendly and never fight. But, no one will encourage violence in the name of actors. I have assured Vinod ’s family that I will be their son from this day onwards,” Kalyan said. He also watched the video footage of the Kolar meeting.

“My son had completed all formalities and was ready to leave for the USA for higher studies. He had planned an eye donation campaign and a hospital on behalf of the Pawan Kalyan Fans’ Association,” said Vinod ’s mother Vedavathi. She said the Karnataka police have arrested only one person as the two other suspects, Trinath and Sunil had political connections.

The incident has occurred at a time when the JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy met Kalyan in Hyderabad a few days ago to use his services in campaigning for his party in Telugu-dominant areas such as Kolar.
