<p class="bodytext">Governor Vajubhai Vala on Thursday appointed senior counsel Prabhuling K Navadgi as the Advocate General (AG) of Karnataka.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Navadagi will replace Madhusudan R Naik, who has resigned from the post.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Additional Solicitor General Navadgi represented Union government before the Karnataka High Court and its circuit benches.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He was designated as a senior advocate in July 2014.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"It is an honour for me to be given a chance to serve as the Advocate General of Karnataka. It was a pleasant surprise," Navadgi told DH.</p>.<p class="bodytext">As a senior counsel, Navadgi had represented Yeddyurappa in several cases in the High Court.</p>
