Private medical colleges agree to 8% fee hike

Private Medical colleges and the Medical Education department in Karnataka have agreed to a 8% hike in fee structure. This will be effective from the present academic year (2018-19).

Speaking to DH, Jayaram M R, Coordinator of Karnataka Medical Colleges, confirmed the hike and said: "We have agreed to what the Fee Regulatory committee had recommended. The new government is just settling down, so it may take some time for it approve the hike. As out-station students will be in Bengaluru for the counselling next week, we have decided to go ahead with Fee Regulatory Committee recommendations".

It maybe recalled that private medical colleges had demanded a 20% hike in fees.
