Siddaganga seer discharged from hosp, returns to Mutt

Siddaganga Mutt seer Shivakumara Swami, who underwent endoscopy procedure at BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital, Bengaluru, on Friday, was discharged from the hospital on Saturday afternoon.

The 110-year-old seer returned to the mutt amid big cheers by thousands of students and devotees on Saturday evening.

Siddalinga Swami, a team of doctors led by Dr Parameshwar, and the members of the mutt administration received Shivakumara Swami and escorted the centenarian seer to the rest room at the old mutt.

"Shivakumara Swami's rest room has been converted into a makeshift an ICU. The seer needs rest to recover fully. Hence, the devotees will not be allowed to enter his room for the fear of infection," Siddalinga Swami said.

Shivakumara Swamiji was rushed to BGS Hospital in Bengaluru in the wee hours of Friday after the complained of breathing problem.

According to Dr Ravindra B S, Chief of Medical Gastroenterology, BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital, the seer was diagnosed with pneumonia, kidney issues, blockage of liver tube and a low blood pressure.

A team of eight doctors at BGS Hospital conducted the endoscopy procedure on the seer. Three stents were inserted into the seer's liver tube in a 40-minute long operation.
