Speaker election on Friday

Election for the post of Assembly Speaker will be held on Friday.

As per the notification issued by the Assembly secretariat, a notice on a motion for the Speaker’s election has been submitted to the Assembly Secretary before 12 noon on Friday. The election will be held the same day.

The JD(S)-Congress combine has already chosen senior Congress leader K R Ramesh Kumar for the Speaker’s post. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is scheduled to move the motion of confidence on the floor of the House after the Speaker’s election.
