State 1 alert at Seabird naval base

A 'state 1 alert' has been declared at the Seabird naval base here, following air strikes on terror bases in Pakistan.

Shantanu Sharma, who heads the naval base, told reporters, "Security has heightened more than normal times. Entry has been restricted at several gates. Visitors are being thoroughly checked and security personnel have been deployed at various levels."
