The state government has taken measures to ensure that search operations were carried out to trace the fishermen on board a fishing boat, District In-Charge Minister Jayamala said.
Speaking to reporters here, she said seven rounds of search operations were carried out with the help of Coastal Security Police, Navy and Coast Guard personnel. She said that the chief minister and the home minister are updated on the development concerning the search operations.
She said that the home minister is visiting the district to discuss the future course of action. He will also meet the fishermen and discuss the issue. The government is concerned and is committed to go to any extent in getting back the missing fishermen, she said.
She said the state government has also spoken to the Maharashtra and Goa governments. The positive result is expected at the earliest, she said.
