Student, juvenile held for fake paper leak

A Yadgir PU student and a juvenile were arrested for sharing an old PU Kannada question paper on WhatsApp claiming that it was 2019 question paper. The incident occurred a few days before the exam.

CCB police arrested Manjunath and the juvenile following a plaint by the PU Board. Police had questioned 30 people who received these messages.

The PU Kannada examination was scheduled for March 16. Rumours about a ‘paper leak’ on WhatsApp and other social media spread just days before the examination. The PU Board learnt that the ‘question paper’ was fake.

The investigation led the cops to Yadgir. There they arrested Manjunath and the juvenile.

Police stated that the duo confessed to charges. They told the police that it was a prank and their intention was to create panic.
