A tiger cub, that was caught in a snare kept for wild boar, died at Harihara in Gonikoppa.

The cub, six to eight months old, along with its mother, had strayed into a coffee estate on the fringes of Nagarahole estate. Unidentified persons had placed a snare on the compound wall of farmer Kushalappa’s field. The cub got stuck in the snare and died on Sunday night.

In the last two years, five tigers were killed getting caught in the noose placed at coffee estates of the district. The officials had cleared hundreds of such snares from the fringes of the forest.
