A professor of a private engineering college has been suspended for reportedly leaking the question paper of ‘Basic Determent Sector Analysis’ subject of the 4th semester, Civil Engineering course of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

The varsity has scheduled the reexamination on July 11.

VTU VC Dr Karisiddappa said, “The examination for the subject was scheduled on June 22, but question paper was in circulation on WhatsApp since June 20. The enquiry indicated involvement of a professor of a private college.”

“We didn’t disclose the professor’s details as admissions for the first year engineering were on. We will recover examination costs from him,” he stated and added, “The question paper of the 2nd semester Maths-II were circulated through WhatsApp in Bengaluru and Chikkamagaluru after exam. There won’t be any reexamination. The marks recording process is encrypted and there is no tampering.”
