Cricket betting resurfaced in the city with police arresting two persons in this regard. Gajanan Kathare (44) of Pearl Layout at Keshwapur and Raghavendra Hanumasagar (22) of G Adda are the arrested. Line machine installed in a suitcase, 13 mobile phones, laptop, TV set, booklets and Rs 10,500 were recovered from them.
“Using line machine and mobile phones, the accused were betting on different aspects of the IPL match between Super Giants Pune and Mumbai Indians on Thursday. At least seven persons were engaged in betting. Cases have been filed under KP Act and IT Act and further investigation is on,” said Police Commissioner Pandurang Rane.
