Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said, “We are not beggars” in a fit of anger, in response to a question on the Congress’ offer to share seven out of 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in the State in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking to media persons here, he tried to reduce the damage of his statement and said, “Now, the priority is to give a united fight against the opposition parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and I will not respond about seat-sharing among the coalition partners at present”.

Later, he said, “My responsibility now is to respond to the problems of the people and to see how their grievances can be solved. My priority is good governance. Our national presidents of the JD(S)-Congress coalition will discuss on seat-sharing”.
