CAA Reactions Highlights: Purely a communal exercise to divide the nation, says Shashi Tharoor
Reactions kept pouring in drones from the Opposition parties on Monday as the Centre notified the rules for the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. They said the BJP was trying to divide society and polarise the atmosphere ahead of general elections. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor called the implementation as morally, constitutionally wrong. He said such a 'communal exercise' will only divide the country. BJP leaders on the other hand, as expected hailed the decision and party leader Shantanu Thakur even likened it to the idea of gaining new Independence. Kerala CM Vijayan also hit out at the BJP and said the state won't implement the communally divisive law. That's all for today, we will be back tomorrow with more updates as we dive more into the politics of the country amid the CAA implementation and the impending Lok Sabha polls. Thank you and goodnight!
