Google gets FDA approval to bring potential life-saving 'Loss of Pulse' feature to Pixel Watch 3

With the approval from the FDA, Google is expected to roll out the 'Loss of Pulse' feature to Pixel Watch 3 in the US and select countries worldwide soon.

Google has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to enabled the much-awaited 'Loss of pulse' detection feature to the Pixel Watch 3.

If the device's advanced heart rate sensors will periodically check for the heart pulse. During primary cardiac arrest, respiratory or circulatory failure, overdose or poisoning, the heart rate drops to life-threatening or zero level.

Once it senses there is a drastic drop in the heart rate, it will flash a message on the screen, if you are feeling well. And, if there is no response for 20 seconds, it will automatically call emergency services to get immediate help.

The new Loss of Pulse feature is released first in at least 14 countries of the European Union including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

And by the end of. March, Google is expected to roll out the new saving feature in the US.

There is no official word on when Google plans to introduce the 'Loss of Pulse' feature for Pixel Watch 3 in India.

In India, it is available in two variants-- 41mm and 45mm-- for Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999, respectively.

Besides the new Loss of Pulse feature, Pixel Watch 3 boasts of several life-saving features including Car Crash Detection, Fall Detection, Irregular Heart Rhythm Notifications and the ECG app and Safety Check.
