Samsung unveils Android mid-range phone Galaxy M56 5G in India

The new Galaxy M phone runs Android 15-based One UI 7 OS and is guaranteed to get six years of Android OS update and security software patches.

South Korean consumer electronics major Samsung on Thursday (April 17) launched the new mid-range Android phone Galaxy M56 5G in India.

It sports a 6.7-inch full HD+ (1080 x 2340p) super AMOLED Infinity-O display with 120Hz refresh rate. It also features Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus+ screen guard, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port and dual-SIM slots (type: nano).

Inside, it comes with Samsung Exynos 1480 octa-core processor with Xclipse 530 GPU, 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charger.

The Galaxy M56 also boasts of triple-camera module-- main 50MP (with f/1.8 aperture, OIS: Optical Image Stabilisation) with an 8MP(f/2.2) ultra-wide angle camera and 2MP (f/2.4) macro sensor with LED flash. On the front, it features a 12MP (f/2.2) camera.

Samsung phone comes in two variants-- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage-- for Rs 27999 and Rs 30,000, respectively. For a limited time, they can be purchased for as low as Rs 24,999 and Rs 27,999, respectively via instant bank discount for EMI plans.

The device will be available in two colours--black and light green.

Samsung's phone will be competing with Nothing Phone (3a) (review), Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 (review), OnePlus Nord 4, and iQOO Z10 (review) among others.
