TP former chief injured in accident

Four people, including the Town Panchayat former president, were seriously injured following a head-on collision between two cars near Bettatavarekere on Wednesday.

The incident took place when Town Panchayat former president T Iranna, along with his driver Hanumantha, were travelling back to Tarikere from Antaragatte, on Wednesday afternoon at around 3 pm.

The vehicle collided with the car of Dr Shridhar from Gutti Nursing Home, Shivamogga. The latter’s vehicle was bound for Ajjampur. Rajashekhar was driving the car belonging to Dr Shridhar.

Both vehicles have been badly damaged due to the intensity of the collision. All the four have been seriously injured. They were shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga after being provided first aid at a government hospital in Tarikere.
