India can become $5 trillion economy by 2027: Chief Economic Advisor

Following the presentation of Union Budget 2022, the newly elected Chief Economic Advisor Dr V Anantha Nageswaran said, “If we continue to retain the path of 8 per cent of real GDP growth, it will translate into even 8 per cent dollar GDP growth.” While addressing a press conference with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr Nagaeswaran also said, “If we extrapolate it, we should be a $5 trillion economy in terms of nominal GDP in the FY2025-26 or FY2026-27”.
