Assam Congress MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi resigns

Rebel Congress MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi resigned from his post on June 18. He handed over his resignation to State Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary. Upon his resignation, Kurmi said, “I felt the Congress leadership was great when Sonia Gandhi was the party president. She had very good relations with all the party members. Under her leadership, Congress led the UPA government. After the entry of Rahul Gandhi, things changed if you noticed. They only give priority to highlighted leaders.”
