The government of Kerala has announced a complete two-day lockdown in the state after witnessing a surge in daily new cases of COVID-19. The state is observing a complete lockdown on July 17 and July 18. Streets in Kochi wore a deserted look as the state observed complete lockdown to control the COVID surge. Lockdown restrictions will be relaxed from July 18 to 20, ahead of Eid al-Adha. As of now, the total active cases in Kerala stands at 2,923.
