Gave sedatives for a week: Cops arrest US woman who drugged, robbed elderly men in Las Vegas for three years

Mexican Police have arrested a woman named Aurora Phelps (43) for allegedly drugging and then robbing numerous elderly men for three years in Las Vegas.

According to FBI's Las Vegas division, Aurora used dating apps to seduce, drug and rob men between 2019 and 2022.

According to a report by New York Post, Special Agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas division Spencer Evans said, "This is a romance scam on steroids. We believe Aurora Phelps deliberately and methodically targeted older men to drug them and steal from them."

Now in custody, Aurora is facing 21 charges including identity theft, abduction resulting in death and wire fraud, Sue Fahami, an acting US Attorney for the District of Nevada said.

Some of Aurora's fake identities included names like - Flores, Velasco, Alvarez - using which she lured men who were in their 60s and 70s.

The FBI said that she also deceived younger men and sometimes women too.

According to NY Post, Evans said, "Once she incapacitated her victims, Phelps stole their cars, accessed their bank and brokerage accounts to withdraw cash, used their credit cards to make a variety of purchases, including luxury retail goods and gold, and even attempted to access their Social Security and retirement accounts (sic)."

Evans said that one of her victims who had awaken from a coma after Aurora had given him sedatives for about a week.

On her Tinder profile under the name 'Sisy', Aurora had mentioned - "I am looking for friends. No fake people, no gente falsa."

Aurora who had crossed the border and ran away, was arrested by Mexican Police and is now awaiting to be extradited to the United States.

Though the police have identified some victims, FBI authorities still believe there may be many more and have posted photos of Aurora on their website mentioning her crime and urging people to step forward if they were victimised by her.

The FBI content read, "If you or your loved one(s) believe you or they were victimised by Aurora Phelps or have information relevant to this investigation, please fill out this short form. If you know of someone else who has possibly been victimised by Aurora Phelps, please encourage them to complete the form themselves."
