Slovakia gas importer says Gazprom stopped gas shipments, has alternatives

Russia's Gazprom Export has suspended gas supplies to Slovakia following the end of a transit deal to carry gas through Ukraine, the dominant Slovak gas importer SPP said on Wednesday.

SPP said in a statement it had prepared for the situation and would supply all its customers through alternative routes mainly by pipelines from Germany and also Hungary, but would face additional costs in transit fees.
