Youth stabbed to death in Uppinangady

A 19-year-old youth, who was returning home after watching Kambala, was stabbed to death by one of his relative in Uppinangady in the wee hours of Sunday.

The victim is identified as Yashwanth, son of Monappa Nalike from Karyaya in Beltangady. Police suspect that one Anand, son of Rukhmaiah Nalike, had stabbed Yashwanth over an altercation at Kambala Gadde in Uppinangady.

Yashwanth had stayed in his uncle Poovappa’s house in order to witness Kambala on Saturday. Monappa Nalike in a complaint to Uppinangady police stated that he received a call from police on Sunday morning informing that his son had been stabbed and was being shifted to District Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru.

Yashwanth was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
