UP BJP, MP Cong examples of 'state terror': Mayawati

Last Updated 14 February 2019, 15:42 IST

The Congress may be avoiding criticism of BSP supremo Mayawati in the hope of finding a place in the Samajawadi Party (SP)-BSP alliance in Uttar Pradesh but the latter continues to attack the grand old party.

Mayawati on Thursday slammed the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh for slapping National Security Act (NSA) on cow slaughter suspects in the state.

''MP government slaps NSA on cow slaughter suspects.....BJP government in UP books 14 AMU students for sedition...people will have to think if there is any difference between the two,'' the BSP supremo said.

She said that the Congress government in MP was also following the footsteps of the previous BJP regime.

The BSP leader said that the action of both MP and UP governments amounted to ''government sponsored terrorism''.

Mayawati said that both Congress and BJP suffered from ''casteist and communal mindset''.

Mayawati has been attacking the Congress after excluding the latter from the SP-BSP alliance saying that it will be ''useless'' to ally with the grand old party.

Congress leadership has categorically asked its leaders not to attack the BSP supremo in the hope that it may ultimately be included in the alliance.
