Farmers' protest highlights: Committed to SC orders, welcome their judgement says Tomar; next meeting on Jan 19 at 12 pm

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar urged farmer unions to form an informal group among themselves to prepare concrete proposals to be discussed in the next meeting as discussions at the ninth round of talks could not reach a decisive stage. The two sides decided to meet again on January 19 at 12 pm. The Supreme Court on January 11 had stayed the implementation of the three laws till further orders and appointed a four-member panel to resolve the impasse. Meanwhile, activist Anna Hazare wrote a letter to PM Modi, reiterating his decision to launch "the last hunger strike" of his life on farmers' issues in Delhi by January-end. Cong leaders laugh at Rahul's remarks, party had promised similar laws: Tomar

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing farmers' protest at Delhi's borders and said even the leaders of his own party do not take the Gandhi scion seriously and laugh at his remarks.

Tomar, along with two other Union ministers, met the farmers protesting against three recent farm laws for the ninth round of talks on Friday but the discussions did not reach a decisive stage.
