Adani UPCL to take up Rs 1-cr project in Palimaru

The Adani Group’s Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has handed over a letter of confirmation to Palimaru Gram Panchayat for execution of development works worth Rs 1 crore under its CSR package for the year 2018-19.

Adani UPCL Joint President Kishore Alva and Palimaru Gram Panchayat president Jitendra Futrado mutually exchanged the confirmation letter and action plan for the year 2018-19 on the premises of Palimaru Gram Panchayat.

Handing over the confirmation letter, Alva said Adani UPCL has brought Palimaru GP under its special CSR package based on the request of the villagers and members of the GP and through district administration.

Like 6 other gram panchayats, Palimaru Panchayat too has been covered under the Adani CSR programme for taking-up village development works worth Rs 3 crore over a period of 3 years. Till date Adani UPCL has completed three development works worth Rs 41.65 lakh. They are concreting of floor on the premises of Palimaru Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple and Brahma Baidarkala Garadi in Adve and development of 1-km road from Nandikuru Temple to Palimaru village.

The contract for 3 other development work, at a project cost of Rs 30 lakh, involving interlocking facility to St Piyus Church, concreting of Palimaru Dam Road and development of Hoige Road have already been awarded and the works will be completed soon, Alva added.
