Denial of ticket: Palemar, Sathyajith unhappy

Last Updated 21 April 2018, 17:32 IST

BJP ticket aspirants from Mangaluru North former minister Krishna Palemar and BJP backward classes leader Sathyajith Surathkal have expressed their displeasure for being denied tickets.

Speaking to DH, former minister Krishna Palemar said, “Asking me to make preparations to file the nominations and later issuing the ticket to others amounts to cheating. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has played a role in denial of a ticket for me. They need people from backward classes to build and organise the party in the district. While issuing the tickets, however, it is the upper caste who are given priority. I will not desert the party. I want the BJP to win in Mangaluru North constituency.”

Satyajith Surathkal said that he will shortly decide on the future course of action.

Kateel denies allegations

Denying Palimar's allegations, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “I have not batted for any one’s candidature. The candidates were decided by national president Amit Shah. The names of aspirants were sent to the Central committee. As Palemar was hurt by denial of ticket, he would have mentioned my name. All the differences will be sorted out through dialogue. Both Palemar and Satyajith Surathkal are needed for the part. Their sadness and anguish will be brought to the notice of the state-level leaders.”
