Jaitley may undergo kidney transplant

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been diagnosed with a kidney ailment and may be away from the office for a while.

He made the announcement on Twitter after a series of tests.

"I am being treated for kidney-related problems & certain infections that I have contracted. The future course of my treatment would be determined by doctors," he said.

A PTI report said Jaitley was likely to undergo a kidney transplant and formalities for the donor's kidney had been completed.

Jaitley, who was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha last month, is yet to take oath as a member.
