Thousands of BJP workers on Tuesday protested at 14 prominent CNG stations across the Capital against CNG price hike.

They demanded immediate rollback of prices.

At least 20,000 CNG vehicle owners also participated in a signature campaign launched by the Delhi BJP to demand a rollback.

State BJP president Vijender Gupta and BJP workers courted arrest at Karol Bagh, where leader of opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijay Kumar Malhotra, MLA Surendra Pal Ratawal, R P Singh and Abhay Verma, along with corporators Rajesh Bhatia, Ravinder Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Madan and district office bearers took part in the protest.

Addressing workers at Karol Bagh, Gupta said the Congress-ruled government has given nothing but only price rise to people. “This government does not belong to the common man. That is why people are frustrated with the policies of the Delhi government. They are waiting to dislodge it as soon as possible,” said Gupta.

He said the last time when CNG prices were increased, the government, was forced to rollback prices by Rs 1.77 after BJP workers came on the streets.

“This time the hike is higher — Rs 2.90. Entire Delhi is suffering due to wrong policies of the government, and BJP will not rest till this anti-people government is thrown out of power,” said Gupta.
