CISF recovers six kg gold at IGI Airport

The Central Industrial Security Force arrested four persons with six kilos gold in separate incidents at IGI Airport on Thursday.

An information was received at about 9.45 am on Thursday that a passenger named Mr Kudathamkandi Nassar, resident of  Kerala will arrive from Dubai by flight No EK-510, said CISF spokesperson.

“He was intercepted near washroom No 1 at Terminal 3 while he was handing over approximately three kg gold biscuits to a ground duty staff named Nibin,” he said in a statement. “They were caught red handed by the CISF team and handed over to custom officials for further action.”

At around 5.25 pm a CISF surveillance and intelligence staff noticed a passenger named Md Nasir Husain, resident of Muzaffarnagar, UP, who was waiting to meet an aviation staff Md Gulsher.

“The CISF staff followed them. They entered washroom No 20 located near international transfer security hold area, Terminal 3. The CISF personnel noticed that the aviation staff was tying his shoe laces,” the spokesperson said.

“Both were intercepted and during the search 26 gold bars weighing approximately three kg were found hidden inside the shoes of the aviation staff Gulsher,” he added. Both were handed over to customs officials with recovered gold bars.
