Delhiites make most of pleasant weather

With the minimum temperature being recorded four notches above the season’s average on Tuesday, Delhiites enjoyed the pleasant weather by spending the day out.

The minimum temperature on Tuesday settled at 11.5 degree Celsius, according to Meteorological department. “Partly cloudy sky with shallow to moderate for in the morning. Today’s maximum temperature was recorded at 24.7 degree Celsius,” added Met department.

Delhiites welcomed the pleasant weather by spending the day visiting tourist spots. “I took a day off to spend the day with my family. We went to India Gate to enjoy the pleasant weather,” said Sourav Shankar, a Mayur Vihar resident.

“I have been planning to take my kids out and today seemed the right day,” added Shankar, who has two children.

Some people went out in the evening. “I went out with my friends in the evening to enjoy the pleasant weather. This winter, it’s not that cold, rather the weather is enjoyable,” smiles Ruchi Tiwari, a DU student.

A few other decided to stay at home.
“I stayed at home and called my friends over to my place. We sat in the sun for sometime in the afternoon and had snacks. We are enjoying this winter season as there is less than usual dip in the mercury for this time of the year,” said Ashish Tripathi, an under-grad student.

Officer-goers had some difficulty in reaching their destinations due to foggy weather conditions.

“In the past couple of days, the weather has been clear but today there was fog so I had to delay going to office. I usually start around 6.30 am but today I left home after 7 am,” said Nishant Mathur who works with a BPO. 

The Met department has forecast partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm on Friday.

“The maximum and minimum temperature will hover between 24 degrees and 10 degree Celsius,” it added.

On Wednesday, the maximum was recorded at 24 degrees, five notches above average and the minimum temperature settled around 11.6 degree Celsius, five notches above the season’s average.
