JOIN USThe South Delhi Municipal Corporation has allowed London Olympics medallist Sushil Kumar not to pay taxes for one property of his choice for his lifetime.
Leader of the House in SDMC announced this at a felicitation ceremony held jointly by the three MCDs at Talkatora Stadium on Monday. The three MCDs also jointly gave a cheque of Rs 51 lakh to Kumar.
South and North Corporations contributed Rs 20 lakh to the award money, and East Corporation contributed Rs 11 lakh. Kumar asked kids to participate in games with due interest, which can become their career.
“I was inclined toward wrestling since childhood.
The MCD school where I studied laid the foundation of my career. One should always respect parents, teachers and elders. This is the key to success,” Kumar added.
State BJP president Vijendra Gupta handed over the award money to Kumar.
