'Crowning glory' of Mysore

Fluency in Kannada fine tuned  with beauty and brain helped this lovely lass of Mysore win ‘Miss Dasara’ title at a beauty pageant held at Mahila Dasara as part of the recently concluded Dasara festivities.

Meet Chaitra, young director of Green Lifescience Technlogies, who had to compete with more than 65 participants to clinch the title. This beauty wants to plunge into politics and fight for women’s rights.

She has MBA degree from National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad. She did her schooling and degree in Bangalore.

Speaking to City Herald, Chaitra said she had enrolled for  ‘Miss Dasara’ contest just for funsake. “There were more than 65 young talents who walked the ramp in the first round, out of which only 25 could make it to  the next round which was introduction round. Fifteen were eliminated in that round and the remaining 10 were eligible to participate in the question and answer round. “I boldly replied to a question posed by Minister S A Ramdas. Then the next round was chaired by three judges where seven competents were asked questions pertaining to several issues to be answered in Kannada. My fluency in Kannada language  helped me win the title”, beams Chiatra.

Besides winning the title she also rode h ome  a moped-TVS Scooty presented by the organisers.

She is the daughter of city-based renowned agriculture scientist Dr Vasant Kumar Thimakapura and  Vaasanthi, Managing Director, Green Lifescience Technologies. Going down the memory lane, Chaitra said she had brought laurels to her school, college by winning several cultural competitions and has represented the college in extempore and debate contests too. Chaitra is also a recepient of the “Best Manager Award” at national level in 2009,  and has served as the dstrict interact representative for Rotary International District 3190.

A multi-faceted personality, Chaitra is interested in embroidery and also photography. Her hobbies include dancing, basketball and she is also a voracious reader of fictional novels.

She is now busy in her  role as the Director of Green Lifescience Technologies and with an assignment in a Kannada movie ‘15’, where she plays the role of a doctor.
A crusade against corruption is her motto and is getting prepared to fight for the empowerment of women. Chaitra is nurturing an ambition to become a politician in future, and eradicate corruption from the grassroots level .
