BMW to have 50% localisation

BMW India reiterated its commitment to increase manufacturing localisation by up to 50 per cent, while announcing new prices for its Indian-made cars recently.

“The future belongs to India. If you want to benefit from the dynamics of the Indian market, you need to act today. We have created a win-win situation for our customers with a wide range of  luxury products,” said Philipp Von Sahr, president, BMW India.

BMW India produces eight car models locally on two assembly lines at its Chennai plant.
The India manufactured car models are BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X1, BMW X3 and BMW X5.
