The Vittal police have arrested two persons, including a Bajrang Dal activist, in connection with the illegal transportation of cattle at Kadambu Junction at Vitlapadnoor in Bantwal taluk.
Superintendent of Police B R Ravikanthe Gowda said that the arrested are Shashikumar, a resident of Vitlapadnoor and Abdul Harris of Kolnad in Bantwal taluk. Acting on a tip-off late on Thursday night, the Vittal police, intercepted a vehicle in which cattle were being transported. There were four cows and a calf in the said vehicle. However, Bajrang Dal claimed that Shashikumar was not an activist of the Dal.
