BEML reports Rs 188 crore net in Q4

Bengaluru-based public sector defence major BEML on Friday reported a net profit of Rs 188 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2018, compared with Rs 186 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

The total income of the company, however, declined 6% to Rs 1,264 crore during the quarter. During the fourth quarter of the previous year ended March 2017, BEML reported a total income of Rs 1,346 crore. Expenditure of the company during the March quarter stood at Rs 1,042 crore compared with Rs 1,145 crore. The board of directors has declared a dividend at Rs 8 per equity share (80%) for the year 2017-18.

On a full year basis, the company has reported a net profit of Rs 130 crore for 2017-18 as compared with Rs 85 crore in 2016-17.
