BEML order book at Rs 6,400 cr

BEML, a public sector company has increased its order book for 2013-14 to Rs 6,400 crore following new orders worth Rs 747 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRCL).

The order is for supply of 92 sets of standard gauge metro cars for the RS-9 project under Phase III implementation of Delhi Metro by DMRCL.

A BEML spokesman said on Thursday that additional orders for supply of standard gauge driverless Metro cars for Phase III of DMRCL’s MRTS project and orders for mainline passenger coaches and stainless steel suburban trains are on the anvil.

“We have been active suppliers for the Jaipur and Bangalore Metro projects as well,” the spokesman said.

BEML has won an order worth Rs 330 crore for supplying 40 standard gauge metro cars to the upcoming Jaipur Metro’s Phase I by the end of this year. Another key order for Rs 1,630 crore involves supplying 157 metro cars for the next phase of Bangalore Metro.
