India will spend Rs.200 crore to bring the benefits of innovations in science and technology to common people, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said Thursday.

"With the help of ministry of science and technology, I have identified amazing innovations. I have decided to allocate Rs.200 crore (Rs.2 billion) to scale them and make them available to people," Chidambaram said while presenting the union budget.
