KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre said that the cabinet expansion and appointments to boards and corporations will be held between November 5 and 15.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he said, “The Congress will not field its candidates for bypoll to Parliamentary constituency in Shivamogga and Mandya. There is a coalition government in the state. Both the Congress and the JD(S) will face the election unitedly.”

“There are two names for Ballari Constituency. The High Command will finalise the name within a day.
The cooperation is essential in a coalition government,” he said.

To a query, he said that Indira canteens have not opened at 40 places in the state. The issue was discussed in the coordination committee meeting. All efforts would be made to open the Indira canteens.

“The Congress is yet to discuss with the JD(S) on the alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. The seat sharing for Lok Sabha polls will be discussed after the by-election. We are searching for a suitable candidate to field in Chikkamagaluru-Udupi Lok Sabha Constituency,” he said.

Stating that the Congress is strong at the grassroot level, he said there may be minor differences. All the differences will be sorted out through discussions.

“The Congress has a challenge to get ready for the Lok Sabha polls. The party workers should work towards it. Already, we have started public contact programmes which will continue till November 19. There is a need to create awareness among the people to achieve the Congress government,” he said.

Further, he accused the opposition of misleading the people through false propaganda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to fulfill the promises he made during the election. The promise of bringing back black money and generating employment have not been fulfilled so far.

“The youth are disappointed with the Modi rule in the country. The BJP is involved in the Rafale scam,” he added.

Khandre said there was a setback for Congress in the Assembly Elections in Chikkamagaluru. All efforts will be made to organise the party at the grassroots level.
